When notified of an upcoming related service IEP (any eligibility other than SLI), or you see that one is coming up, start collecting data and observations.

You are not responsible for sending any paperwork home or scheduling the meeting. Work closely with your team to make sure that upcoming meetings are being scheduled in advance on days and times that you are available.

Write the IEP present levels for speech. This will involve obtaining parent input, general education input, creating a therapy data summary, and doing an updated observation. Add in the goals and minutes to the IEP in IC prior to the due date. You may have to ask the Case Manager to open the IEP for you.

Participate in the IEP meeting. After the meeting update your caseload data book with the student's new recommended goals and minutes. Document that an Annual IEP has occurred to indicate that moving forward, the data will reflect the new goals.
